brahm neufeldSESS Website FeaturesI had a brief stint as Webmaster for the Saskatoon Engineering Students' Society, which is where I first started playing around with some simple databases and PHP/MySQL scripts. The society's sports coordinators identified a need for a better system for tracking, scoring, and managing games for the EIDHL, the Engineering Inter-Disciplinary Hockey League. The current system was fairly primative - an Excel spreadsheet paired with a list of email addresses, or something like that. I wrote a quick system that allowed the sports coordinators to manage teams, rinks, and game scheduling using a sign-on to the SESS portal, which was powered by GeekLog CMS software. The end result wasn't the most sophisticated system in the world, but it got the job done and it is still being used today. After EIDHL games were played, the sports coordinators could upload the scores and they would be displayed to the public. Other contributions to the SESS website was the GeekLog CMS itself, a simple product/inventory page for the Kiosk (since replaced with a much better system!), an Eng-Info uploader, and an automated Weekly Emailer.
